Covid-19 / Coronavirus Update

25th March 2020

1730 hours Friday 11 September| COVID-19 Updated Statement from Welsh’s Coaches

There is a distinction between what is allowed when privately and informally planned compared to what a business can now safely and legally offer. The new legal prohibition is designed to enable the authorities to crack down on privately and informally organised gatherings where no social distancing or face coverings are being used or observed and comes on the back of rises in positive tests among younger people. Here is the important distinction from the guidance that applies to coach trips and group visits:

Businesses and venues following COVID-19 Secure guidelines can host larger groups. Premises or locations which are COVID-19 Secure will be able to hold more than 30 people, subject to their own capacity limits, although any individual groups should not interact with anyone outside of the group they are attending with.

In other words, group events are permitted when professionally organised by businesses who have made risk assessments and put in place good practices for Covid safety.

We have reduced the available seatng capacity on board our vehicles so as to comply with curent social distancing requirements and a Covid Information sheet detaling the latest practices we have implemented is being issued with final travel documents.

With effect from Tuesday 8 September our booking offices are open, at Doncaster from 9.30 to 2, and at Upton 9.30 to 3.30. We’re pleased to annoiunce that it’s back to business as normal – well almost! So, if you have a reservation please ensure that you pay your balance by the due date as shown on your confirmation. Standard cancellation charges apply as per our Trading Charter.

We have recently installed air purifiers in our coaches and have drawn up revised and enhanced cleaning procedures including the ‘fogging’ of our vehicles with an antiviral/antibacterial solution. Risk assessments have been carried out and we are obtaining the same from hotels. A Covid Information document detailing revised procedures will be enclosed with your final travel documents together with a Health Declaration form which should be completed on the morning of departure.

Please do remember the important message that any monies paid towards your bookings remains safe and continues to be protected by our BCH (Bonded Coach Holiday) Bond. For more information about BCH click here to see their website.

After a very difficult and testing few months we are delighted to have come through it comparitvely unscathed and we now look forward to doing what we do best, delivering excellent value holidays to suit all tastes and pockets.

We look forward to welcoming you aboard very soon
